AGIMO is currently updating the SourceIT model contracts to bring them into line with recent legislation. We are seeking comments and feedback on these drafts and will take them into consideration when finalising the updated versions.

The new clauses that have been added to the model contracts relate to the following recent legislative changes:

SourceIT model contracts were developed in 2005 following the review of the Government Information Technology Terms and Conditions (GITC) contracting framework. The newly updated version which we are in the process of finalising will result in version V2.3.

SourceIT model contracts provide contract templates from which Australian Government Agencies are able to efficiently develop sound commercial agreements. They were developed following significant consultation with agencies and industry with a purpose to enable and encourage good business practice and to minimise the risk of disagreements between agencies and suppliers.

The suite of model contracts is designed to be used in simple procurement of:

  • Hardware Acquisition and Support;
  • Licence and Support of Commercial off-the-shelf Software;
  • Licence of Commercial off-the-shelf Software (without support); and
  • IT Consultancy Services.

The contracts are also flexible enough to allow for the inclusion of project specific details.

We are interested in your views and feedback on the draft updates. Please make your comments via email to ICTprocurement@finance.gov.au by COB  11 December 2012.

Update: As per the request in the comments below, we have added the drafts with tracked changes for your information:
